The San Francisco Chinese Seventh-day Adventist Church (SFCSDAC) Faithful Warriors Adventurer Club exists to help children develop spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially. The Club involves children in grades pre-K through 4th grade and their parents. Parental involvement provides opportunities for parents to participate in the learning experience.
We thank you for showing interest in our SFCSDAC Faithful Warriors Adventurer Club. Our club provides safe and fun ways for children to explore their world, learn skills, and be creative. The program provides opportunities for young children to begin their Christian faith journey and build a lasting relationship with God.
Our Adventurer Club aims to give children a foundation of valuable life skills that promote spiritual, physical, intellectual, and social growth. Children enjoy a variety of activities teaching them about nature, the Bible, arts and crafts, recreation, and life skills such as communication, leadership, healthy eating, cooking, money management, outreach, and service. The Club involves children from pre-school through grade 4 (ages 4-9) and their parents. The Adventurer program is sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist church but is open to all children and their families.
Our SFCSDAC Faithful Warriors Adventurer Club consists of six class levels yearly. After graduating from Adventurers, many children, in grades 5 (or age 10) and up, join our SFC Faithful Warriors Pathfinder Club. If you’re interested in joining our club, feel free to contact us.
WHAT IS THE ADVENTURER CURRICULUM DESIGNED TO ACCOMPLISH?
The SFCSDAC Adventurer Club is a Seventh-day Adventist church-sponsored ministry and is all about supporting families as they work to develop happy, healthy, mature children. It provides a fun and creative environment for children (ages 4—9) to learn more about the Bible, health, nature, building confidence, getting along with others, and more! Plus, it gives parents & guardians an opportunity to improve their parenting skills while enjoying special activities with their children.
The Adventurer Club opens to all children from Pre-K through 4th Grade. We believe the family circle is precious in God’s eyes and has measureless impact. The Adventurer Club is a way for our church to partner with families to help children through the many different activities in the club:
- Children will, at their own level, commit their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ.
- Children will gain a positive attitude toward the benefits, joys, and responsibilities of living a Christian life.
- Children will acquire different lifelong skills and knowledge to become more confident in meeting their daily challenges.
- Parents and other primary caregivers will learn to be co-laborers with Christ for their children.
WHAT IS ADVENTURER CLUB?
- to develop a Christ-like character;
to experience the joy and satisfaction of doing things well; - to express their love for Jesus in a natural way;
- to learn good sportsmanship and strengthen their ability to get along with others;
- to discover their God-given abilities and to know how to use them to benefit self and serve others,
- to improve their understanding of what makes families strong.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
The SFCSDAC Adventurer Club meet twice a month (2nd and 4th Saturdays), September through June from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Children are expected to wear uniforms (Field uniform) to Club meetings and a formal uniform (Class A uniform) when representing the SFCSDA Faithful Warriors Adventurer Club at special occasions and designated service projects. Each meeting starts off with the recitation of the Adventurer Law, Adventurer Pledge and a devotional with prayer. Then the kids head off to their classes. Classes are exciting, interactive ways for children to explore faith, nature, science and much more. Hands-on approaches to learning make classes great ways to reinforce lessons children are learning. Lessons correspond with specific awards. At the end of the Adventurer Club year, your child will receive patches representing earned awards during the year.
Each class has volunteer leaders, but parents are highly encouraged to participate along with their children. All volunteer instructors, counselors, and staff working with the Club’s children are required to pass a background check, been fingerprinted (via Live Scan), and must have completed the Mandated Reporter Training (MRT).
EVENTS
In addition to classes twice a month, you will have the option of earning additional awards at other times of the year. We also participate in a service project and/or a fun club outing throughout the year. There is also a camp-in, Tyke-A-Thon (bike riding), Adventurer World Day, Pathfinder parades, and an Induction (opening) ceremony and Investiture (graduation) ceremony.

WHAT TO WEAR?
The uniform makes the Adventurer Club real to its members. The uniform becomes an emblem of a standard, builds loyalty to the club, and brings members into a sense of community. The uniform should always be neat, clean, and worn with pride.
Two styles of uniform will be used at various times:
- Club T-shirts (field uniform) will be used most of the time for club meetings, field trips, and other club activities. The SFCSDA will provide the child’s first T-shirt as a welcome to the club. Thereafter, it is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to purchase the club T-shirts.
- A full-dress uniform (Class A uniform) will be worn for special occasions and designated service projects. (Please note: The SFCSDA will provide the child’s first full-dress uniform as a welcome to the club. Thereafter, the full-dress uniform must be purchased by the child’s family.)

The Adventurer Song is the NAD official song for the whole Adventurer Club. Historically there were separate songs for Little Lambs and Eager Beavers, but since 2015, all six levels have been part of the same Adventurer ministry and thus share the same song.

Parent/Guardian involvement is a unique component to the Adventurer Clubs that generate a meaningful experience for the entire family. Because safety is of utmost importance, we are required to make sure every adult must be background checked and screened if s/he actively volunteer and work closely with children other their own in the Adventurer Club meetings and activities.
